2017 Subaru Impreza vs 2017 Honda Civic near Philadelphia, PA

The Subaru Impreza and Honda Civic are two wonderful models that can be purchased as a sedan or a hatchback. For 2017, both models will receive some great changes - perhaps most notably, the Impreza is all-new for 2017 and it features a redesigned platform, new connectivity features, a more powerful engine, and more. The Civic was redesigned for 2016, so the 2017 updates will be less drastic, although there is a new hatchback variant and an available turbocharged engine. If you would like to learn more about how these two models compare continue reading below!

2017 Subaru Impreza Power & Handling

The all-new Impreza is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that will provide 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. According to Subaru, this engine is 80-percent new, and it has received an advanced fuel-injection system as well as other mechanisms that work to reduce noise and create a quiet ride quality. Drivers can choose from a five-speed manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT). Subaru has equipped the Impreza with a phenomenal all-wheel drive system, which provides capability for inclement weather conditions.

2017 Honda Civic Power & Handling

The Civic is powered by a standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine which produces 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, but Honda offers a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) as an alternative. There are other engines offered but the availability will depend on which trim is chosen. Front-wheel drive is the only system available, which limits its ability to perform in poor weather conditions.

2017 Subaru Impreza Features & Design

The Impreza has a great design, and it is a comfortable family option as there is seating for five passengers. There are a number of great trims available, with Subaru providing a great value at every level and the option between a sedan or a hatchback. Not only will the base model include all-wheel drive, but it will feature a Starlink audio system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen, compatibility for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, air conditioning and a convenient rearview camera. Some of the optional features that will be available include the remarkable EyeSight driver-assist technology. The EyeSight package will equip the Impreza with active cruise control and collision avoidance, as well as active lane keeping assist.

2017 Honda Civic Features & Design

Honda offers seating for five passengers within their Civic model, and it is offered as a sedan, coupe, or hatchback. Standard amenities found on the base model will include automatic climate control, a 4-speaker audio system with a USB port, and a folding rear seat. The base model will also have a rearview camera and a 5-inch screen. Optional equipment will include the brand's LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring system, or the Honda Sensing system which has adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, and other driver assistance features.
