The Ford Edge is offered with three engines, but customers will have to opt for a more expensive trim level in order to equip one of the more powerful engines. The standard engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that has 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. The base engine is equipped with a six-speed transmission and a front-wheel drive system, but an all-wheel drive system is available.

The Outback has comfortable seating for five passengers, and there are six optional trim levels. Each trim offers a terrific value, with a wide range of standard amenities. The base model is called the 2.5i, and it has roof rails (with integrated crossbars), 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, hill holding assist, and hill descent control. The standard technology includes the fantastic Starlink 6.5-inch touchscreen interface, a rearview camera, Bluetooth connectivity, a four-speaker sound system, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Depending on the chosen model, the Outback can be equipped with outstanding driver assistance features like lane departure warning, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights.

2018 Ford Edge Features & Design

Ford offers their Edge model in four trim levels, and there is seating for five passengers in the vehicle. The Edge has a higher MSRP than the Outback, but the increased price does not offer substantially more content. The standard features in the base SE model include automatic headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and rear privacy glass. For technology, the base SE model has a 4.2-inch central display screen, a six-speaker sound system, voice controls, Bluetooth, and a rearview camera. Some of the available driver assistance systems, which are available on the higher trims, include automatic wipers, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and an automated parking system.
