2019 Subaru Forester Power & Handling

Under the hood of every 2019, Subaru Forester is a new 2.5-liter flat-4 engine that produces 182 horsepower, 176 lb-ft of torque, and can make up to 33 mpg. The new engine features a stronger block and a brand new direct-injection system. The boxer motor comes paired with a continuously variable-speed automatic transmission. The CVT system in the Sport and Touring models features a manual mode that simulates a 7-speed automatic transmission through the shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel. All models come with a new SI-Drive system that lets drivers choose between an intelligent or sport powertrain performance. All-wheel-drive also comes standard across the trim level lineup. 


2019 Kia Sportage Power & Handling

The standard engine in the 2019 Kia Sportage is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder that makes 181 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. For those that can afford the bump up in price Kia also offers the Sportage with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine. This engine produces 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharged engine can only make up to 26 mpg when paired with the standard FWD. When the engine is paired with the optional AWD the Sportage can only make up to 23 mpg.

2019 Subaru Forester Features & Design

Five trim levels are available for the 2019 Subaru Forester including the base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring. The base model comes with a 6.5-inch touchscreen, a four-speaker sound system, smartphone integration, selectable drive modes, pre-collision warning with automatic braking, and lane keeping assist. One step up will get you the Premium model with a rear spoiler, Wi-Fi hotspot, six-speaker audio system, cargo cover, and a panoramic sunroof. The Sport model adds keyless entry, orange interior and exterior accents, steering wheel-mounted shift paddles, and automatic high-beam control. An 8-inch touchscreen, leather upholstery, power liftgate, and blind-spot monitoring all come standard on the Limited trim. Finally, the top of the line Touring model adds a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, and LED foglights.


2019 Kia Sportage Features & Design

The 2019 Kia Sportage on the other hand only comes in three different trim levels. The base LX model comes with a 5-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system, a CD player, automatic headlights, and one USB port. Next up is the EX with heated front seats, a 7-inch touchscreen, keyless ignition, leather upholstery, and blind-spot monitoring. Lastly, is the SX with LED foglights, a panoramic sunroof, special exterior trim, and a hands-free liftgate. Most of the Kia Sportage's higher-end features are apart of available packages.

With so much more to offer, the 2019 Subaru Forester is the clear winner here. Subaru's immensely capable all-wheel-drive system is more than capable of venturing off the beaten path and getting you home without a problem during inclement weather.
