2020 Subaru Outback Power & Handling

Two wonderful engine options are available for the 2020 Subaru Outback. The first three trims come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that rips out 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. All XT trim models provide consumers with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder that pumps out an impressive 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. Best of all, both of these engines pair with all-wheel-drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission. If you're looking for fuel-efficiency, the Outback has you covered as it can get up to 33 mpg on the highway.

Two engines are also available for the Mazda CX-5. The first is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that is equipped with front-wheel drive only. The Grand Touring and Signature trims get a little more powerful turbocharged version of the same engine that allows for 227 horsepower or 250 horsepower on premium gas. The turbocharged engine comes with all-wheel-drive as standard. Fuel efficiency is impressive at 31 mpg on the highway, but that is less than that of the Subaru Outback.

A whopping six trim levels are available for the Subaru Outback, and they each come with an impressive amount of features. Standard on the base are LED headlights, keyless entry, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. Premium trims up the ante with dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats. Tech features include an impressive 11.6-inch touchscreen. The Premium also opens the door to more safety options, including a power liftgate, navigation, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. At the midway point is the Limited, which adds to the fun with leather upholstery, driver-seat memory functions, reverse automatic braking, rear air vents, and a Harman Kardon audio system. Available options for the Limited include a heated steering wheel, navigation, and Subaru's DriverFocus driver monitoring system.
