An Evolution in Sophisticated SUV Styling

19-inch Alloy Wheels

For the first time, the 2025 Forester offers 19-inch alloy wheels in dark gray with machine-finish accents on the Forester Touring (shown) and a bronze finish on the Forester Sport.

Standard Roof Rails

Get even more cargo-carrying flexibility with raised roof rails, newly standard for 2025. Plus, Forester Sport and Forester Touring models receive all-new low-profile roof rails for sleeker style and improved aerodynamics. With either design, it’s easy to bring along equipment like kayaks, bikes, and skis or haul extra gear using a cargo carrier from our extensive line of Thule® racking accessories.

Redesigned Inside and Out

Available Panoramic Moonroof

The Forester features an available panoramic moonroof to add even more light and atmosphere to the spacious interior.

11.6-Inch Touchscreen

For intuitive control of your apps, navigation, and entertainment, the SUBARU STARLINK Multimedia system in the 2025 Forester features a newly available 11.6-inch high-resolution touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration and wireless device charging are all now available to make it even easier to enjoy your music and podcasts without the need for cables.

Refined Forester Models

The All-New Forester Touring

The Forester Touring trim brings even more premium comfort and style to every drive. The exterior features high-gloss black-finish accent trim and 19-inch alloy wheels in dark gray with machine-finish accents. Inside, there’s available two-tone leather-trimmed upholstery with Ultrasuede® inserts, standard heated front and rear outboard seats, and a standard Harman Kardon® premium audio system.

The All-New Forester Sport

With unique bronze-finish styling accents throughout, 19-inch bronze-finish alloy wheels, and StarTex® water-repellent upholstery with contrast stitching, the Forester Sport takes on a subtle edge that’s both composed and athletic.

2025 Subaru Forester Engine and Drivetrain

Subaru has long relied on flat-four engines with opposing cylinders due to the low center of gravity they create, which aids in control and traction. In 2025, the Forester continues to be powered by a 2.5-liter flat-four Boxer engine that delivers 180 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. To save on fuel while idling, the engine features engine stop-start technology, which cuts off fuel flow while idling, powering down the engine. When the brake pedal is released, the engine seamlessly turns back on. The Boxer engine pairs with a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT), which powers all four wheels with Subaru’s renowned all-wheel drive system. The transmission can be controlled by steering wheel paddle shifters for a more in-command driving experience.

New Design Features for the 2025 Forester

The new sixth-generation Forester offers an array of new features both inside and out. While retaining the iconic model’s rugged proportions, the Forester takes on a sleek, more modern shape. The grille is updated, creating a bold statement with slim LED headlights on either side and the new, bigger, and bolder star cluster emblem at its center. The Forester’s wheel arches are flared to put emphasis on its all-terrain abilities. A new option for the Forester’s exterior is a hands-free power liftgate, allowing you to open the trunk even when your hands are full. Stepping inside, the new Forester’s cabin is revamped with new materials for greater protection and comfort. While the Forester comes standard with two seven-inch touchscreens, one for infotainment and one for climate, the Premium trim and all that follow feature a newly available 11.6-inch StarLink infotainment touchscreen with a portrait orientation. Another available feature that’s new for the 2025 model year is a wireless charging pad, allowing you to charge your smartphone without fumbling with a charging cable. Subaru also redesigned the seats for more comfort while making them slimmer for greater visibility and rear seat access. Finally, the 2025 Forester is the quietest one yet, with more robust welding techniques, more sound-absorbing materials, and added structural adhesives. Additionally, the new Forester features a 39% reduction in roof panel noise.

How Safe is the 2025 Forester?

It’s a well-known fact that Subaru places safety high on their list of priorities. That is why the entire 2025 Forester lineup comes standard with the revamped Subaru EyeSight driver assistance technology suite. The new EyeSight system is designed for smoother and quicker operation in varying road conditions thanks to updated software, a wider field of vision, and a new electric brake booster. Standard across the entire Forester lineup, drivers enjoy the safety of pre-collision braking, advanced adaptive cruise control, lane centering, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency steering, among others. Meanwhile, additional safety features are available for the Forester, including blindspot detection, lane change assist, rear cross-traffic warning, and reverse automatic braking.
