Trim Levels of the 2019 Forester

The 2019 Subaru Forester has five impressive trims ready to outfit this five-passenger compact crossover: the base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring trims. All the trims run on a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that's equipped with all-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission for 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque.

 

Starting things off is the aptly named base trim. Despite being the bottom rung of the trim ladder, the base Forester begins things already well equipped with Subaru's Starlink app suite, 17-inch wheels, CD player, automatic LED headlights, satellite radio, rearview camera, 4-speaker audio system, automatic brake hold, 6.5-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, smartphone integration, driver information display, Bluetooth, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, 60/40 rear split seating, push-button start, a height-adjustable driver seat, and selectable drive modes. The base also comes standard with the EyeSight safety system bundle, equips it with automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision warning, lane departure warning, and lane keep assist.

 

The next trim available is the Premium, which sees the addition of several features. These features include selectable traction modes, alloy wheels, 6-speaker audio system, roof rails, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a panoramic sunroof, cargo cover, rear spoiler, rear air vents, tinted windows, driver side adjustable seating, hill descent control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a color driver information display. The Premium also has optional features in the form of a power liftgate, rear cross-traffic alert system, blind-spot monitor, keyless entry, and an All-Weather package with heated front seats, windshield de-icer, and heated mirrors.

 

The newly introduced Sport trim takes things up a notch with an All-Weather package, black-painted 18-inch wheels, an added traction setting for the X-Mode system, automatic high-beam control, an added driving mode, LED foglights, a shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel, keyless entry, an upgraded driver information display, and an orange interior with exterior accents. An option package adds an 8-inch touchscreen with blind-spot monitoring and automatic reverse braking. Additionally, this optional package can have a power liftgate and 9-speaker Harman Kardon audio system added on to it.

 

At the Limited trim level you'll lose the the Sport trims orange coloring, paddle shifters, and LED fog lights, but what you'll gain more than makes up for it. What the Limited gains includes a power liftgate, adaptive self-leveling headlights, blind-spot monitoring, fog lights, an 8-inch touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and a leather-wrapped shifter. The Limited's optional package brings in a navigation system with the Harman Kardon audio system and automatic reverse braking.

 

At the top of the trim ladder stands the Touring model, which beings things be taking all the optional features available to the previous trims and makes them standard. The other added features include the DriverFocus system, LED foglights, heated rear seats with remote-folding levers, a heated steering wheel with shift paddles, 8-way power passenger seat, and driver-seat memory.
