Powering the Ascent is a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque, which is paired with a continuously automatic variable transmission that does a good job simulating an eight-speed automatic. You can further customize the powertrain by adding a set of steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, which is used to change gears manually. All-wheel-drive comes standard on all trims and includes an off-road enhancing X-mode, hill-descent control, and Active Torque Vectoring. Fuel economy is impressive as the Ascent can get up to 27 mpg when you combine city and highway driving. When adequately equipped, the Ascent can tow up to 5,000 pounds. 

What Features Come on the base Trim?
The base Ascent comes with some impressive features including eight-passenger seating, Eyesight, three-zone climate control, cloth seats, Rear Seat Reminder, 18-inch alloy wheels, auto on/off wiper-linked headlights, roof rails, 19 cup holders, and a six-way adjustable driver's seat. Also coming standard are heated side mirrors, a windshield wiper de-icer, and the ability to tow 5,000 pounds. Several packages are available for the Premium including an OP 12 package which includes a panoramic sunroof, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and reverse automatic braking. The OP 14 package provides you with 20-inch wheels, a navigation system, and a cargo cover area. 

What can I get on the Limited Trim?
With the Limited, both of the Premiums packages come standard. The trim also includes adaptive LED lights, automatic high beams, LED foglights, leather upholstery, additional driver's seat adjustments, heated second-row seats, rear door sunshades, leather cabin ascents, and dual third-row USB ports. Optional is a Harmon Kardon audio system. 

What are the Features for the Touring?
The Touring comes with all the optional features as standard and adds chrome exterior accents, automatic wipers, ambient cabin lighting, upgraded leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, a total of eight USB ports, and a front-view camera display. Also coming standard is a rearview mirror with a rearview camera image, which allows you to see out the back when your standard view is blocked by cargo or passengers.
