Subaru has achieved 2015 Top Safety Pick awards for all seven of their 2015 models. Vehicles awarded by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, were the XV Crosstrek, Legacy, Impreza, Forester, WRX/STI and BRZ. Subaru is the only manufacturer to have received IIHS Top Safety Picks, for six years in a row for all models. Five of those vehicles, the Legacy, XV Crosstrek, Forester, Impreza and Outback were awarded the 2015 Top Safety Pick+ statuses when they were equipped with the optional EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, earning 6 out of 6 points. Those vehicles also gained the highest possible rating of "Superior" for front crash prevention.
The XV Crosstrek and Impreza earn have earned the distinction of being the cars in the small car segment to have achieve the "Superior" rating, and they join the Legacy, Forester and Forester in making available the award-winning and incredible EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, which adds Pre-Collision Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control and Vehicle Lane Departure Warning. The highly praised EyeSight  technology from Subaru has made its mark by being the first system to utilize stereo camera technology to be able to detect objects like cyclists, vehicles and pedestrians.
To be considered for a Top Safety Pick in 2015, a vehicle needs to receive a rating of "Good" in four tests; a rollover test, high-speed front and side crash tests, and evaluations for head/seat restraints which protects against neck injuries in rear impacts. Also mandatory is either an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating in a small overlap front test, which was first introduced in 2012. All of the above ratings  are necessary to receive the 2015 Top Safety Pick+, in addition to a rating of "Superior" or "Advanced" in a front crash prevention test.
Thomas J. Doll, the chief operating officer and president of Subaru of America Incorporated, was happy to have been recognized by the IIHS, both in previous years and in present. Doll spoke to the achievement of Subaru, and of the company's dedication to continually designing and producing safe vehicles. Doll was proud to have received the recognition of being a IIHS 2015 Top Safety Pick for every vehicle in Subaru's lineup, and for receiving a Top Safety Pick+ for five vehicles.
