What powertrain options are available?

Subaru offers two different solid powertrain options to help power the 2020 Outback wherever it may explore; coming standard with the base Outback, Premium, Limited and Touring trims is a capable 2.5-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine that pushes out 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. This engine marks an impressive 2,700-pound tow capacity while maintaining a solid 33 mpg fuel economy on the highway. If you are looking to add a little extra power, upgrading to the Onyx Edition XT, Limited XT or Premium XT trims will bring an upgraded 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer 4-cylinder engine that clocks an improved 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque output. This overall increased power output transfers through the body of the Outback well, bringing an impressive max tow capacity of 3,500 lbs. All powertrains are configured with a standard symmetrical all-wheel drive paired with Subaru's staple continuously variable automatic transmission which foregoes a shifting gear system to offer a smooth efficient acceleration from low to higher speeds.

What are the trim levels and what features are included?

The base Outback brings a slew of exciting features offering more comfort and convenience than seen in previous generations; with the base Outback you will find features such as 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, LED headlights that automatically activate in response to windshield wipers, roof rails, 60/40-split flat-folding rear seating, advanced adaptive cruise control, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, multiple USB ports, flexible cargo storage with underfloor compartments and cargo tie-down hooks in the back, automatic climate control and much more. The Outback also comes standard with a great infotainment system centered on a 7.0-inch touchscreen display with a rearview camera, Bluetooth, smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 4-speaker sound system. The higher trim levels offer many more features, bringing in additional technology and upgrading the already expansive starting list of features; with the Limited trim, you will see features such as fog lights, upgraded sound system with 6-speakers, heated front seats, power-adjustable driver's seat and more. The Outback Limited trim offers an upgraded leather upholstery set, a hands-free power liftgate, auto-up/down windows, a Harman Kardon premium audio system, and LED steering responsive headlights. The Touring trim offers additional comfort and convenience-based features while moving up to the XT trim levels (Onyx Edition XT, Limited XT, and Touring XT) we see an upgraded turbocharged powertrain with top-notch features like ventilated front seats, power moonroof, and more. With so many trim levels and options, the customization that Subaru brings into the 2020 Outback is nearly limitless! Our dealers are ready and happy to answer any questions you may have about how best to build your 2020 Outback the way you'd like.

What safety features are brought in?

Subaru brings next-generation technology into the 2020 outback, bolstering the already robust safety features from previous years and making the driving experience smoother and more convenient. With the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, you will experience an easier drive with adaptive cruise control with lane centering, automatic pre-collision braking, lane departure warning and sway warning, automatic high beams, and lane-keep assist. Subaru also employs many other safety features such as hill-start assist, traction control system, tire pressure monitoring, vehicle dynamics control system, a rearview camera, and a full airbag system with advanced frontal airbags supplemented by seat-mounted side-impact, driver's knee and side curtain airbags.
