2021 Subaru Impreza vs 2021 Kia Forte

Finding the sedan that best matches the needs of your busy lifestyle can be troublesome when there are an overwhelming number of models to choose from. Here at Reedman Toll Subaru, we want the new vehicle buying process to be a positive one, that is why our team created this comparison review. They choose two of the most popular models on the market today and put them side-by-side to see how they stack up. On the left, we have the 2021 Subaru Impreza and on the right, the 2021 Kia Forte. Continue reading below to see which model comes out on top!

2021 Subaru Impreza Power & Handling

In the 2021 model year, each Impreza trim level is powered by the same engine. This 2.0-liter flat-4 BOXER engine pumps out 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. There are two transmission matches for this engine. The first is a continuously variable automatic and the second, a 5-speed manual. Each and every Impreza model also comes with standard all-wheel drive. The flat or BOXER design of the engine enhances the stability of the sedan as it lower in the engine bay, creating a lower sense of gravity.

2021 Kia Forte Power & Handling

There are two engines offered for the Forte. The base engine is a 2.0-liter inline-4 that delivers 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard and a continuously variable automatic transmission is available. The second engine offered is a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-4 that produces 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. This engine also offers two transmissions, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and a 6-speed manual is available. Front-wheel drive is the standard and only drivetrain configuration.

2021 Subaru Impreza Features & Design

There are four Impreza trim levels offered in the 2021 model year. The base trim comes outfitted with 16-inch steel wheels, cruise control, a four-speaker sound system, a USB port, Apple and Android smartphone integration, cloth upholstery, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, and power windows and locks. The upper trims, called the Premium, Sport and Limited, add features like additional USB ports, automatic headlights, heated front seats, a 6-speaker sound system, roof rails, an upgraded suspension for more stable handling, keyless entry/ignition, an 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, more sporty suspension tuning, LED headlights, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. The Impreza also comes equipped with safety features like a rearview backup camera, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, rear automatic braking, and forward collision mitigation.

2021 Kia Forte Features & Design

The Forte comes in five trim levels. The base trim is outfitted with features like Apple and Android smartphone integration, 15-inch steel wheels, a 4-speaker sound system, an 8-inch touchscreen, and an adjustable steering wheel. The upper trims adds selectable drive modes, 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, keyless entry and ignition, cloth sport seats, a 6-speaker sound system, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, a sunroof, wireless device charging, and heated/ventilated front seats.

Conclusion:

It is easy to see that the 2021 Subaru Impreza is the sedan to choose. The Kia Forte put up a good fight but the lack of available AWD and overall lack of features throughout the five trim levels is not enough for us! Come on down to Reedman Toll Subaru to check out the Impreza in person with one of our sales associates, they will help you find the trim level that will best suit your lifestyle needs and even join you on a test drive or two!
