In early October, Subaru announced the all-new 2024 Subaru WRX TR, which adds better performance in the form of weight reduction, revised suspension, retuned steering, and more. Please continue reading below to discover the all-new, enthusiast-focused 2024 Subaru WRX TR!
How Powerful is the 2024 Subaru WRX TR?
The WRX TR comes equipped with a robust 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-four Subaru Boxer engine. This powertrain generates 271 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and offers a generous torque curve, delivering 258 lb-ft of torque between 2,000 and 5,200 rpm. This remarkable power is sent to all four wheels using a six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment. For those who prefer two pedals, the WRX is available with an eight-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel paddles for sequential shifting. These transmissions send power to the wheels with Subaru's elite Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. Additionally, Active Torque Vectoring is a standard feature across the entire model lineup. When cornering, this feature intelligently transfers more power to the outside wheels and limits power to the inside wheels to give drivers a firm grip through windy roads.
2024 Subaru WRX TR Exterior Design
The WRX is known for its commanding road presence and striking aesthetic, which is exuded by the latest generation's widebody design. At the front of the WRX TR, you'll find the iconic hexagonal grille, flanked by a sleek headlight configuration with brilliant LED headlights. Above the grille is the WRX's distinctive hood scoop for the intake of fresh air to the engine. To accentuate its high-performance character, the WRX features pronounced lines along the vehicle's front, sides, and rear. The WRX TR's exterior mirrors and roof-mounted shark fin antenna are painted to match the car's body color. Meanwhile, the rear deck lid is equipped with an integrated, low-profile spoiler in a coordinating body color, while the taillights are designed to emit a glow reminiscent of molten lava, adding a touch of drama to the vehicle's appearance.
Interior Design of the 2024 Subaru WRX TR
The all-new flagship WRX TR boasts Recaro seats as standard, providing enhanced support to both the driver and front passenger for an optimal performance driving experience. These seats feature a Y-shaped design at the center of the backrest, expertly cradling the sides and shoulder blades of the occupants to maintain the ideal driving posture. The seats are elegantly upholstered in a combination of black and gray Ultrasuede, accented by contrasting red stitching, and adorned with the embossed "Recaro" logo on the seatbacks. The driver's seat is equipped with 8-way power adjustments for personalized comfort. In pursuit of weight savings, a lower center of gravity, and added headroom for helmet-wearing drivers, the power moonroof has been omitted from the WRX TR. Exclusive and brand-new 19-inch multi-spoke wheels in a sleek satin gray finish come standard on this model. The WRX TR also includes the latest iteration of the Subaru StarLink 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system as a standard feature. This 11.6-inch touchscreen at the center of the dashboard offers high-definition functionality for managing vehicle configuration settings, climate control settings, and infotainment. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and provides access to Bluetooth for hands-free phone calls and audio streaming. Lastly, for the first time ever, the manual transmission variants of the 2024 WRX, including the WRX TR, are equipped with Subaru's EyeSight driver assistance technologies.
