Tips for How to Keep Your Car Clean and Organized

Many people spend a lot of times in their cars, whether or not it's for commuting or running the kids here and there, here are some tips to keep your car clean and organized.

Control the Garbage.

Get a waste container that hooks onto the back of the front seat headrest.  Consider a container for compostable items as well, like apple cores and banana peels, if a lot of eating goes on in your car.

Clean up the Mess.

Make sure to carry a package of wipes in the glove compartment for cleaning up spills. Also consider a portable vacuum cleaner for vacuuming up crumbs. These are great especially if you have a young child that eats small snacks in the car.

If you have issues with muddy floor mats consider putting down towels or another type of cover on the floor so you can easily take these out and throw them in the wash.  It's easier than scrubbing the mud (and banana mush) out of the mats!

Organize.

If you have a lot of toys and books, consider getting an organizer that hangs from the front or backseat headrests. Buy cases for maps or other items that you can stick in pockets behind the seat or in the door.

Small containers can help organize items like umbrellas, gloves, hats in the trunk or under the seats.  You can use bigger crates for organizing different family items or sports equipment in the trunk.
